Abstract

The objective of the project was to develop the artistic skills of third, fourth and fifth year high school students by creating alebrijes using recycled materials. A sketch of the design was first developed, then a cardboard box was used for the head and fabric or plastic for the body, while natural paints and Apu were used for decoration and painting. It is concluded that the alebrijes project has been a transformative experience in the integral development of the students; since, in addition to developing artistic skills, it has encouraged the development of critical thinking, environmental awareness and the ability to work collaboratively; preparing them for the challenges of the future.
