Abstract

The theme deals with all the existing social problems such as cultural, social and labor exploitation suffered by indigenous people. The study aims to reflect on the relevance of José María Arguedas' works in the current context, highlighting the persistence of these existing social problems and the need to value and protect cultural diversity. It is concluded that Arguedas manages to capture the internal struggle for identity and cultural resistance in the face of a society that constantly tries to erase indigenous roots and traditions. His stories are not only a window to the injustices of the past, but also a call to reflect on the importance of valuing and preserving native cultures. Today, his works continue to be a source of inspiration for social and academic movements that seek to vindicate cultural diversity and denounce the persistence of historical inequalities.
