Abstract

This essay deals with the social injustices and inequalities suffered by the indigenous people at the hands of the mistis represented in the works of José María Arguedas, and which persist to this day. The aim of the essay is to reflect on social injustices and inequalities. It is concluded that José María Arguedas very well portrayed the injustices of the mistis towards the indigenous people in his works, representing racism, abuse of authority, psychological and physical abuse, among many others; as well as the fight for dignity and justice; however, it is imperative to recognize that, although some of the evils he denounced may have diminished to a certain extent, others have emerged with renewed force.
